Reviews
Excellent municipal course. Friendly folks running the place and not too uptight. Price is just right for those wanting to play golf instead of show off their wallet. Pace of play can be slow, but that's fine with me.
Clubhouse is on the left side of the brick building that is shared with the community center.
Very little water and pretty simple layout, perfect for beginners and intermediate. Excellent care of the course.
Course itself is easy but the group is either the best people ever or the worst. A guy threaten my daughter because of a shot she didn’t even hit. He threaten to hit her with a ball on purpose and repeated this 3 times. He was an elderly male who got mad and told her to respect golf rules and that she shouldn’t hit until he was off the green( which she did). That was hole 6 and he was on hole 7 which is right next to hole 6. My daughter’s shot went off and rolled to the elderly man’s cart( as so claimed by HIS OWN GROUP PLAYER) never hitting the man. Either way the elderly man’s attitude was unforgivable when earlier on hole 2 he his own shot was awful and horrendous and hit my son. The course itself isn’t bad but since anyone can be let on please stay safe.
This is a great course for all golf lovers. Fairways are wide and forgiving, greens are well maintained, and the course in all is not over challenging. For the price it’s a great value. Will definitely be coming back after my first time.
Is Sharpstown the best course in Houston? Um...no! Yet, their staff is amazing to me ( just started golfing 5 months back and have played Sharpstown 8 times, now)... but the course is a good, fun course, where you can always practice for the best price in town. If you are paying 300,000 year for a country club membership in Houston somewhere, then I'm pretty sure your mind says you are too good for Sharpstown, but I bet I have m9re fun there than you do at your place!!! THANK YOU so much Sharpstown.
Worst customer service ever!! By all of the staff. I can’t believe that racism still exist that bad in this day an age. As soon as i walk in the guy behind the register just made the most disgusted face ever. The gentlemen was just flat out rude and disrespectful for no reason. Yelling and raising his voice as if he couldn’t understand what i was saying. I went to golf and destress instead i got even more stressed just trying to get my ticket and cart. It took me 30min to just tee off from when i got there. Never will i encourage anyone to golf here. Poor attitudes and lack of respect…
My Hispanic friends are new to golf and came here because of the level of difficulty of the course, and they were treated with absolutely zero respect.
The few times I have gone with them here we have had no issues ( I’m white). So, it’s clear to me that the staff here treats people differently based on race.
This type of thing is why golf is looked at as snobby and uppity, I can’t believe that my friends had to experience that.
Low class people, low class course, we will not be back.
Not how you grow the game sharpstown, do better!!
I've played some bad golf courses and this has to be the worst of them all
There's basically no difference between the fairway and the rough. They're equally poorly maintained
The water hazards are just dried up lake beds
There's giant black streaks across 80% of the greens
There no variation in the courses. every single one is a straight shot
Even the tee boxes are poorly maintained. So dried up we broke tees trying to put them in the ground
They don't refill the water jugs
Go to literally any other golf course than here. You can pay the same or less and get a MUCH better course
I played here recently with a pleasant surprise. For a Saturday morning with all of the tee times booked it was not crowded or slow play.
I was very nice and leisurely and still completed 18 in 3.5 hours. It’s course was in very good shape. The greens were maintained well and the bunker sand was nice and fluffy. Overall this was a pleasant experience. I will return soon
They have a mini range kind of like a batting cage. Unique idea as I had not seen a course with one of these. Looks like about 8 to 10 mats.
There is a putting green and a chipping green.
